Two Short Gals – Chalk Paint 101 Class

Believe it or not, Summer is coming to an end and Fall is in the air! Are you going to be looking for an indoor activity or want to learn a new hobby? Call Two Short Gals to sign up for their Chalk Paint 101 Class. Wait! What? Two Short Gals has classes?? Yes! So, just what is Chalk Paint 101? I’m so glad you asked! You know that beautiful, distressed look you sometimes see on furniture? You can learn how to do that! Yes, you really can!

Chalk Paint 101 is the beginner’s class at Two Short Gals. Yes, there’s more than one class! Annie Sloane, the originator of chalk paint, developed it because of a need for a multi-purpose paint that would work on furniture without priming or sanding, that would be easy to use, dry quickly, and that could be used for many different painting techniques. It is called Chalk Paint because of its velvety, ultra matt, chalky finish.

Two Short Gals sells Country Chic chalk paint. It usually contains a primer, All-In-One Décor Paint, and is very environmentally friendly. It has that chalky appearance when dry and can be finished in many ways. The distressed, shabby chic, way is adding beeswax to the areas you want to distress, adding a second color and sanding it off. (I think I got that right – I need to take the class too!) According to Brenda, even people who aren’t super crafty can do this! (That’s me – not super crafty!) I find these pieces amazing!

Are you interested yet? The next Chalk Paint 101 class is Wednesday, September 20, 2017, at 6:30 PM. Cost is $45, and Stacey Matthews teaches the class. Remember, this is the beginner’s class, which will last for approximately 2 hours, where you will learn everything you need to know to get started on creating your own masterpieces.

The exciting part is that after you have mastered this class, the next class is the Small Piece Class. Attendees are asked to bring in a picture frame or something else small, to work on in this class. Eeek, you can perfect that shabby chic/distressed look yourself and voilà – you have a new hobby!

Class size is limited, so call today to reserve your spot for Chalk Paint 101 or to ask any questions that you may have. Brenda and Elta are more than happy to talk with you. Call today, Wednesday the 20th will be here before you know it!!
