My Favorite Town in Pennsylvania

Are you in need of a quiet, relaxing vacation destination? My favorite place to visit is Sigel, PA. This small town may seem to have nothing to offer as you are driving through; however, if you would take some time, veer off the main road and stop at a few of its attractions, you might be surprised at how much you like it also.

I would recommend renting a rustic cabin for an entire weekend stay at Clear Creek State Park. Cabins are generally one to three rooms and most are heated with wood-burning furnaces. Larger cabins also have stone fireplaces both inside and outside on the portico. With a small museum, picnic pavilion areas, hiking trails, swimming or fishing spots and a large playground for kids, there is something at this park for everyone.

The Farmer’s Inn is an off the beaten path restaurant with a surprising array of amenities. Young and old alike will enjoy the Petting Zoo, Wildlife Park and miniature golf courses. In addition, perusing the gift shops and Amish furniture is just as enjoyable as studying the incredible, old-fashioned decor inside the restaurant while you eat a fantastic meal.

At some point during your stay, hiking Beartown Rocks is a must! These impressive rock formations were gifted by nature to generations of families to enjoy after the last glacial period. Many can be easily climbed, which is added family fun. Just don’t forget your camera, have fun and be a safe and responsible naturalist!
